The Ask Computer Jim Windows Vista Gadget is a way for you to keep up to date with the information that is important to keeping your computer running smoothly. We’ll alert you when there’s a serious virus and tell you how to protect yourself and remove it if you become infected. You’ll also be notified when there is any special information regarding computer hardware, operating systems and software. If we release a newsletter then you’ll find a link to the newsletter archive right in the Gadget. Follow the instructions below to find out how to install and use the Gadget.

System Requirements

To use the Ask Computer Jim Vista Gadget you need to be using Windows Vista, the new operating system from Microsoft. Windows Vista Gadgets will not work with Windows 98/ME/2000/XP.

How to Install

The first thing you need to do is download the Gadget to your desktop.

Once you have download the gadget, double click it, you will then be presented with the following warning:

Click ‘Install’ and the gadget will appear in your sidebar. You can now rest easy knowing Ask Computer Jim will notify you as soon as important information is available.
